Capturing the Beauty: A Day Full of Beautiful Moments

On My Mind

This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. ~ Psalm 118:24

Every day is valuable. Life is made up of a long stream of days. In my mind I see each day as a link in a chain with its own color in an unending array of hues and shades. What are the colors of each day? And the color does not necessarily represent the day, but how I perceived the day. Does my chain of days have long stretches of dull grays because I forgot to see the beauty in each day? Or is it filled with vibrant colors representing the myriad of beautiful things that happen each day? Even on the worst days, there is still beauty. Even on the worst days there is still God holding on to me, giving me His love, and providing for me. So where is the beauty He is showing you and me today? Have we noticed the sunrise, the sunset, felt the breeze on our skin, stopped to enjoy a flower, listened to a bird sing or a child laugh, enjoyed that first sip of coffee, talked with a friend? There are so many beautiful moments in each day, we just have to take the time to notice them.

Give every day the chance to become the most beautiful day of your life. ~ Mark Twain

Kids

We spent the morning outside.

Babies outside

I love how the older kids like to hang out with the babies.

Kids playing outside

Kids and wheels

Kids and tools

By this afternoon it was hot outside, so we played inside. Apparently, there were a lot of repairs to do today.

Kids toy castle and trucks

Kids and play kitchen

The kitchen is all repaired and there's lot of cooking to do, and dishes to wash.

In the Kitchen

Banana celery apple carrot morning smoothie

My morning smoothie. This one is banana, celery, apple and carrots blended with milk. It's my morning boost to make sure I start out with plenty of vegetables and fruit.

Animals

Cat making the bed

Scout "helped" me make the bed this morning. He slowed me down quite a bit but seemed to be enjoying himself very much.

The Servant with One Talent

"It is not the king who keeps us in poverty, it not our neighbor who steals our opportunities, and it is not our employer who keeps us in our misery or our family heritage that is responsible for our slothful ways. Each of us has received according to our abilities. Each of us can decide what we do with those abilities. Did we increase in our abilities today, or did we take the day as it came and squander another precious gift? ~ pg. 141

"You have a finite amount of time in your life. You have a finite amount of time in your day. Time is not something you can control. but what you become in the amount of time alloteted to you is in your control, and those possibilities are infinite! ~ pg. 142

Wednesday Evening Church Service

We almost didn't go to church this evening and then decided to go after all. And I'm so glad we did. Never doubt that the same Jesus who performed the miracles we read about in the New Testament can and does still do them today. A lady who has been battling cancer that was resistant to treatment went in today for a pre-surgery appointment. She was told that the tumor that was the size of a baseball is now the size of a knuckle, and no surgery is needed. We still serve a God who loves us and works on our behalf.
