Life is the ultimate example of complexity at work. An organism, whether it is a bacterium or a baboon, develops through an incredibly complex series of interactions involving a vast number of different components. These components, or subsystems, are themselves made up of smaller molecular components, which independently exhibit their own independent behavior, such as the ability to catalyze chemical reactions. Yet when they are combined into some larger functioning unit - such as a cell or tissue - utterly new and unpredictable properties emerge. such as the ability to move, to change shape and to grow. ~ Donald E. Ingber; The Architecture of Life, Scientific American, January 1998

When I read this, it made me think of how complex we are as humans. Not only are we physically complex but we are complex in every other way. And along with that complexity, we are each completely unique. All the experiences, talents, emotions, skills, and everything else that goes into making each of us who we are, combine to create an individual unlike anyone else with a place in life no one else can fill.

You weren’t an accident. You weren’t mass produced. You aren’t an assembly-line product. You were deliberately planned, specifically gifted, and lovingly positioned on the earth by the Master Craftsman.” ― Max Lucado

Each individual has core pieces that make up who they are. Each of these pieces, like puzzle pieces, is important to the complete picture, the full essence of that individual. In this space, I want to celebrate the unique way God created me and chronicle the journey to live the life He called me to. At the same time, I want to encourage you to celebrate and live out the unique way God created you and the calling He has on your life. You are uniquely you, for a purpose! Let's take the journey together as we live the beautiful picture that God created each of us to be.

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. ~ Psalm 139:13-16

I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 1:6
