This week has been busy, and packed with food, fun, hard work, and family.
I made some of the kids snacks this week - here we have butterscotch cookies and apple spice bread.
And breakfast for dinner one evening was really good - oven scrambled eggs w/sauteed veggies, fried potatoes, and sausage gravy and biscuits.
The kids learned about dragonflies, birds and the letters Nn and Dd (among other things) this week.
We had lots of fun in the playroom, playing with the kitchen set, the castle, and other things.
One morning we got out the Little People play set and had so much fun playing with that. This is something I only get out when I am directly playing with them so that we don't lose all the pieces.
I discovered these selfies that Michael took with my phone one day. He's had a busy week again. I feel like I say that every week but he is always busy . Sunday morning we went to Sunday School and then stopped at Hardee's to get breakfast to bring home and eat. Sunday afternoon he went to the packing party at church where the boxes are packed for distribution through the Calvary food pantry that week, and then stayed for the youth group meeting. Wednesday evening he went to youth group. Thursday afternoon he volunteered at the food pantry. In between he did his school work and helped with things here at home. And Saturday morning I took him to get a long overdue haircut.
My sister-in-law invited us over for dinner Friday evening. We had a good time and the fish she prepared for us was delicious. I got to hang out with my nephew and Michael loved hanging out with the puppy.
Saturday Amanda had a rare Saturday off and asked me to go shopping in Harrisonburg with her. We had a good time at Hobby Lobby, Gabe's, the Harrisonburg Mall, and Old Navy. And she even bought me lunch!
We had an unexpected snow squall Saturday afternoon. It didn't last long and didn't stick, but the snowflakes were so big and pretty and fluffy. This picture does not do them justice at all.
Chris and Nathan had a couple races to see who could get in their fire gear first. It made for some great pictures and lots of laughs.
One of my nieces and one of my nephews came over to spend the evening with us and stayed overnight. It was a fun evening. I made meatloaf, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables and we had bread. We laughed and talked and watched TV and stayed up too late. And it was definitely worth it. These are the moments I love and hold on too.
