Putting up the Christmas Tree, Family Time and Birthday Thoughts

Today you are you!

That is truer than true!

There is no one alive

Who is you-er than you!

~ Dr Seuss

For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. ~ Ephesians 2:10

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms. ~ 1 Peter 4:10

These are just a few of the things that are going through my mind. The idea of turning 50 just feels very foreign to me. I've told several people today that I feel 25 - except for my knees. Honestly what I mostly feel is inspired to make the next fifty years the best of my life.

I had a good birthday and was spoiled by my family - a card and necklace from Chris, cake and soda from Michael, and Amanda sent me pictures of things that are on the way . That candle makes me laugh 🤣

Aside from birthdaying we put up and decorated the Christmas tree -

and hung out with David, Katrina and Deeks both here at home and then shopping on Saturday and out to eat on Sunday.

Michael's face! He refuses to cooperate for pictures.

Saturday these two little munchkins spent the day here. The Christmas tree box was great entertainment.

And I'll end by sharing an excerpt from a book I've been reading.

By being effective right where we are and working within our strengths and interests, we are not only effective ourselves, but we also move our industries forward.

Tens of thousands of Christians doing this in all sectors of society, and within key culture-shaping institutions, would change the world in the right non-spiritually-weird way that cannot be accomplished by boycotts and campaigns that illustrate what we are against rather than what we are for.

To change the world, first change your world. Be a positive influence for good in your family, your workplace, your community, and the nation. If thousands of people are intentional about changing their world by living out biblical and common Grace principals in each of their vocations, the whole world will be changed.
