Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! ~ Philippians 4:4
Joy is the spiritual birthright of the child of God. This doesn't mean we will like everything that happens to us or every circumstance we find ourselves in. But it does mean we have access to joy in spite of what goes on.
You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
~ Psalm 16:11
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. ~ Galatians 5:22
The precepts of the Lord are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
giving light to the eyes.
Psalm 19:8
